The Details
A young professionals event to benefit University Settlement. Join University Settlement and fellow young professionals for a select tasting of stellar
international wines hand-picked by some of New York City's top wine experts.
The evening will include a delicious accompaniment of hors d'oeuvres, a chance
to win fabulous prizes (including museum memberships, fine wine and more!), and
an opportunity to network.
Tickets are $60 in advance and $75 at the door. All proceeds will benefit University Settlement's innovative programming for New Yorkers
of all ages.

Green is a well-known media personality who appears
frequently on the Food Network, CNN, CBS Marketwatch, and Fox News. He has been
featured in such print publications as The
New York Times, Washington Post, Business Week, U.S. News & World Report and House Beautiful.
A board member of the American Institute of Wine and Food,
Green often shares his vast knowledge of wines at cooking schools around the
country including the Culinary Institute of America and the Institute of
Culinary Education. Featuring wine selections byAfter
being mentored by Rajat Parr (The Fifth Floor) and Larry Stone (Rubicon) in San
Francisco, an invitation from Tom Colicchio to create a wine list at
Craftsteak, Las Vegas, led to Heather being named one of 2004's best new
sommeliers by Wine & Spirits magazine. New York was next; after overseeing programs
at Dona and Charlie Palmer's Aureole, she created the opening list for the Upper West Side's eighty one in February 2008.
Belinda Chang, Beverage Director, The Modern Recognized
by Food & Wine Magazine for her outstanding wine lists and nominated for a
James Beard Foundation "Outstanding Wine Service" Award, Belinda Chang joined
Danny Meyer's restaurant, The Modern, as Wine Director in November 2007.
Previously, she ruled the wine cellars of Chicago
top restaurants (Charlie Trotter's, Rick Tramonto's Osteria Via Stato) and San Francisco's Fifth
Floor restaurant. She has appeared on wine segments on CBS, NBC and ABC and her
expertise can regularly be found in The
New York Times, Wine and Spirits
Magazine and The Sommelier Journal.
James Horn, General Manager, Mermaid Inn
James began his career with Chef Jose Andres in
Washington, D.C. as Beverage Director of his acclaimed restaurant, Zaytinya. After
a successful tenure there, James was hired by Chef Michael Psilakis in New York
to be the Sommelier at his Michelin-starred Greek restaurant, Anthos, where he wrote an award-winning, comprehensive wine list with a strong
focus on Greek wines. From there, James helped open Psilakis' new, casual Greek
restaurant Kefi, again writing and maintaining an all-Greek wine list. James' latest move has been to join restaurateur Danny
Abrams as General Manager of the Mermaid in the East Village. 
Wine Director at the newly opened South Gate in The Jumeirah
Essex House Hotel, Weissman's vast knowledge of wine was recognized in 2007
when he placed 2nd Runner Up in the American Sommelier Association's Best
Sommelier in America competition. Prior
to joining South Gate, Weissman was the Beverage Director at Town and Wine
Director at Beacon Restaurant.
