On March 10, 2009, University Settlement hosted its Fifth Annual Fine Wine Dinner and Auction at Christie's New York.
The event has become a "hot ticket" for leaders in New York's finance
and banking community, and we are happy to report we had a packed room full of Settlement supporters.
Michael Green, wine and spirits consultant to Gourmet
magazine for 18 years, was the evening's Master of Ceremonies.
Joined by a host of guest-sommeliers from New York City's top
restaurants, Michael led guests through a tasting of wines from
some of the world's most forward-thinking and innovative winemakers.
Each wine was expertly paired with a five-course gourmet dinner.
For the second year in a row, University Settlement Board Member James K. Finkel
(CEO, Dynamic Credit Partners, LLC; Member, Wine Committee University
Club; Commandeur de Bordeaux; Commandeur des Costes du Rhone; and Rhone Chevalier du Tastevin) served as event chair.
All
proceeds from the dinner will benefit University Settlement's diverse
programs, which help over 20,000 low-income and at-risk New Yorkers
build better lives for themselves and their families each year.
